Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed.: A Review

 RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

From the hosts of the award-winning, chart-topping podcast Sh**ged. Married. Annoyed.

SH*GGED.

Saturday nights out on the tiles, undying crushes, dating like it’s a competitive sport, awkward tales of dating woes, one-night stands, the walk of shame, ghosting, tears and break-ups.

 MARRIED.

Finding ‘the one’, meeting their parents, first holidays and romantic weekends away, engagement rings, big moment proposals, wedding bells, the hen do, the stag, the much anticipated – and feared – best man speech, the honeymoon of a lifetime.

 ANNOYED.

Who stacks a dishwasher like this? Empty milk cartons placed back into the fridge, pregnancy, sleepless nights, toilet seats up, toothpaste everywhere, less and less frequent date nights, DIY weekends, divorce.

Whether you’re sh**ged, married, annoyed, or all of the above, Chris and Rosie Ramsey, hosts of the number one podcast, write hilariously and with honesty about the universal highs and lows of life, dating, relationships, arguments, parenting and everything in between.

About a year ago, just after the Strictly Come Dancing 2019 cast were announced, I started listening to Chris and Rosie Ramsey’s podcast,
Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed. I instantly loved it. I knew of Chris Ramsey for a few years beforehand from comedy panel shows but it wasn’t until Strictly that I started following his work. I instantly loved the podcast! It was so funny, the stories were hilarious, the beefs relatable, and I loved the questions from the public. When Chris started Strictly, I voted every week and religiously watched Rosie’s Instagram stories. I binged the podcast and have relistened to all of the episodes 4 or 5 times. I listen to it when I’m running and when I’m at work doing delivery. So in January, when they announced that they would writing a book, I preordered a signed copy right away!

When the book arrived, I could not put it down. I would read it non-stop it until I finished it if I hadn’t had to work over the weekend. The best way to describe the book is that it’s like you are reading a podcast episode. The chapters are filled with the fun back-and-forth between Chris and Rosie that makes the podcast so unique and hilarious. The book is split into four sections: Sh**ged, Married, Annoyed, and the bonus section Let’s Talk About Shit. In each of the sections, Chris and Rosie mix their own personal stories and experiences with questions and stories from the public.

The first section is called Sh**ged. In this section, they cover everything from one night stands to dating woes to jobs. Everything from the single life is included in this section, intertwined with stories and questions from the public. Chapters about one-night stands, nights out during the week one after the other, ghosting, and job-hunting makes this section highly relatable and hilarious. They don’t shy away from telling embarrassing stories from their past or divulging some interesting events that have happened to them over the course of their early twenties.

The second section is Married, and they cover the main topics of married life. From discussing their stag and hen do’s before they got married to their parenting fails to the question that loads of soon-to-be dads ask; “will you love the baby more than me?”. Just like the previous section, the Ramseys are open and entertaining, just like they are in their podcast.

The third section of the book is Annoyed, which is based off of the beef segment that they have in their podcast where they discuss a “beef” that they have with the other. It can be something that has annoyed them within the last week or something that has been bugging them for as long as they’ve been together. They also include chapters about who will die first, grandparents micro-managing, and Chris touring and being away from home.

The final section is by far the most disgusting section. So disgusting that it comes with a warning page. It’s the Let’s Talk About Shit segment. Chris and Rosie started getting so many stories and questions relating to faeces on the podcast that they created a segment dedicated purely to those questions. The stories were so rank and disgusting that they are kept together so listeners can skip past them. Personally, I love them, and this section of the book was amazing as well. The stories are horrific but so entertaining and make you pray that you never have one of your own to tell.

I cannot recommend this book enough. It is light-hearted, funny, heart-warming, relatable and honestly just an amazing book. The book doesn’t lose what made, and continues to make, the podcast so popular, it’s just as incredible. Chris and Rosie Ramsey are two amazing, hilarious, and genuine human beings who have created a podcast and written a book that’s for people from all sorts of life. I loved the book and every week I love their podcast. Wish I could reread the book and listen to the podcast as if it was the first time again because they both make me laugh out loud. I cannot wait to see the live podcast next year in Edinburgh!

Until next time, I’ll keep reading with wanderlust.
